Udhampur, Apr 17: As part of its ongoing crackdown against bovine smuggling, the Udhampur Police, following the registration of FIRs and the arrest of drivers involved in smuggling activities, has successfully implemented a major action. A detailed report was compiled regarding the involvement of drivers and vehicles in smuggling operations, which was submitted to the concerned ARTOs (Assistant Regional Transport Officers) for the suspension of registration certificates. In response to the report, the ARTO Udhampur has officially suspended the registration certificates of 14 vehicles involved in the illegal activity. This marks a significant step in curbing bovine smuggling and enforcing stricter penalties against those violating animal cruelty laws. Udhampur Police have warned vehicle owners and drivers to refrain from engaging in illegal smuggling activities, emphasizing that strict legal actions, including attachment of movable and immovable properties, will be pursued against repeat offenders. |
