Jammu, Apr 17: Indira Gandhi Government Dental College celebrated World Haemophilia Day under the guidance of esteemed Principal and Dean, Prof. (Dr.) Parveen Akhter Lone with great enthusiasm and awareness-oriented activities. The event aimed to spread knowledge about haemophilia and its implications in dental care. In addition to this, the event concluded the month long activities undertaken by IGGDC in view of World Oral Health Day. A detailed and insightful lecture on “Haemophilia in Relation to Dentistry” was delivered by Dr. Shazia Hamid, Associate Professor, Department of Medicine, GMC, Jammu, shedding light on special precautions and treatment modifications required for haemophilic patients during dental procedures. The guest speaker also had an interactive session with the audience. Mr Rohit Jandial, President Hemophilia Society, Jammualso addressed the gathering highlighting the need of caution while dealing with patients suffering from hemophilia. Following the lecture, Principal and Dean (Prof.) Dr. Parveen Akhter Lone, addressed the gathering, encouraging students and faculty to integrate this vital knowledge into their clinical practice and ensure safe and informed care for all patients. She emphasized the importance of awareness and timely diagnosis in managing haemophilia, especially in clinical settings like dentistry where surgical procedures are common. She concluded with the message reinforcing the commitment of the institution toward dental care with incorporation of newer advances to provide appropriate dental treatment. In the end, certificates were distributed to the students who have shown academic excellence in University examinations as well as activities related to month long World oral Health Day celebrations. |
