Early Times Report NAGROTA, Apr 21: In a vibrant celebration of World Creativity and Innovation Day 2025, Government Degree College (GDC) Nagrota reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability, innovation, and environmental responsibility. The highlight of the celebration was the screening of a documentary on the Material Recovery Facility in Jammu, which sheds light on the innovative management of plastic waste through recycling. The documentary, based on the project "Rural and Urban Landscape Free of Dry and Plastic Waste," introduces a unique Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Model designed to enhance the efficiency of waste collection and promote the sustainable disposal of plastic waste. Serving as an educational tool, the documentary emphasized the crucial role of creativity and innovation in waste management and environmental conservation. It encouraged viewers to consider how imaginative thinking and collaborative efforts can drive impactful change in both rural and urban settings. In her address, Prof. Anjali Mahajan, Principal of GDC Nagrota, underscored the importance of creativity in addressing real-world issues. "Creativity and innovation are the engines of progress. Whether it's in solving environmental challenges or driving economic growth, the ability to think differently and act decisively is essential for sustainable development," she stated.
