Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 21: Jammu and Kashmir BJP spokesperson and former Vice Chairman, Balbir Ram Rattan, said that the Constitution of India, drafted under the leadership of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, stands as a beacon of justice, equality, and human dignity. He was discussing the life and immense contributions of Dr. Ambedkar with senior party leaders. Balbir Ram Rattan said that Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, remembered as the chief architect of the Indian Constitution, laid the foundation of a democratic republic that guarantees fundamental rights and freedoms to every citizen. His vision extended beyond mere political freedom-it was rooted in social transformation. The Constitution, adopted on January 26, 1950, enshrines principles aimed at eliminating centuries-old social discrimination and inequality. It gave voice and dignity to the oppressed and marginalized communities. It provided the people of India, especially those long deprived of basic rights, a dignified and equal life. It empowered every citizen with the right to rise and fully participate in the democratic process. Balbir Ram Rattan stated that the Constitution introduced affirmative policies, including reservations in education and employment for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes. These measures have played a vital role in reshaping the social structure and providing opportunities to the disadvantaged. Dr. Ambedkar's commitment to liberty, equality, and fraternity created a moral and legal framework for a just society. His emphasis on constitutional morality and the rule of law continues to guide India on its evolving democratic journey.
