Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 21: In a remarkable achievement that underscores India's growing presence in global medical academia, Dr. Rashid Anjum, Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopedics at AIIMS Jammu, represented India as a Young Ambassador at the prestigious Asia Pacific Orthopedic Association (APOA) 2025 Congress, held in Cairns, Australia. Dr. Anjum was among only 15 distinguished young orthopedic surgeons selected from across the Asia-Pacific region for this coveted program, which aims to cultivate leadership, academic excellence, and international collaboration in the field of orthopedics. As part of the APOA Young Ambassador Program, Dr. Anjum participated in a rigorous academic itinerary involving clinical observations, knowledge-sharing sessions, and interactive discussions with senior orthopedic faculty and fellow ambassadors. He visited leading medical institutions in Cairns, gaining exposure to global best practices in surgical planning, patient care protocols, and hospital training systems. At the Congress, Dr. Anjum delivered two widely appreciated podium presentations: "Orthopedics in India: Challenges, Innovations, and the Road Ahead" - highlighting the rapid technological integration in Indian orthopedic care. "Leadership in Orthopedics" - emphasizing the importance of mentorship and the emerging role of young professionals in global healthcare leadership.
