Jammu, Apr 21: A delegation of civil society members from Jammu, led by Ch. Rashid Azam Inqlabi, Vice President of the IGM, today met Dr. Naseem Javeed Choudhary, Director School Education Jammu, to raise pressing issues concerning the education sector, especially in remote areas. The delegation expressed serious concern over the acute shortage of teaching staff in far-flung schools, affecting the academic progress of students. They highlighted the lack of subject-specific teachers, including Hindi, Urdu, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Computer Science, which continues to hamper quality education delivery. The members also emphasized the urgent need to create dedicated posts for computer lecturers in every higher secondary school to ensure students are not deprived of essential digital education. Prominent members who accompanied the delegation included Sh. Sham Lal Basson, President of All J&K Dalit Chetna Manch; Ganesh Khajuria, former Chairman of the J&K Teachers Forum; Sh. Darshan Sharma, General Secretary of the Teachers Forum; Kuldeep Verma, Executive Member; and Rattan Lal Bangotra, Retired District Agriculture Officer. The delegation unanimously stressed the importance of uplifting educational standards in underdeveloped regions and assured their continued support to the Directorate of School Education. They welcomed Dr. Naseem Javeed Choudhary’s proactive approach and commitment to addressing educational challenges and assured him of civil society’s cooperation in devising constructive measures to strengthen the education system.
