Faculty of Pharmacy Desh Bhagat University organized an Awareness Camp on Depression

MANDI GOBINDGARH, May 13: The Placebo Club, Faculty of Pharmacy, Desh Bhagat University, organized an Awareness Camp on Depression at village Saunti near Amloh to educate the community about mental health and reduce stigma associated with depression. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Puja Gulati, Principal, School of Pharmacy, Desh Bhagat University, along with Dr.Shailesh Kumar Gupta, Principal, S.Lal Singh Memorial College of Pharmacy, Ms.Khushpal, Principal, Mata Jarnail Kaur College of Pharmacy and several esteemed faculty members. Dr. Nicky Jaiswal coordinated the event, ensuring its smooth execution, while Ms. Shivani and Mr. Ruhit, Assistant Professors at the School of Pharmacy, actively participated.
The camp featured expert talks, interactive discussions, and informative sessions highlighting the causes, symptoms and management of depression. Students and faculty engaged in spreading awareness through pamphlets and workshops, encouraging early intervention and professional support. Practical strategies such as mindfulness, exercise, and social engagement were emphasized to help individuals cope with mental health challenges. The successful event fostered an open environment and strengthened community understanding of depression, empowering individuals to prioritize their mental well-being.
