Dehradun, May 22: Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami handed over appointment letters to 112 newly selected transport constables in a program organized at the Mukhya Sevak Sadan of the Chief Minister’s residence.
Along with this, the Chief Minister also flagged off 2 promotional vehicles with the aim of increasing public awareness towards road safety on the Chardham Yatra route.
Congratulating the newly selected candidates who received the appointment letter, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said that this success is not only the result of hard work, discipline and determination of the selected youth, but the cooperation, sacrifice and blessings of their families also play an important role in it.
Chief Minister Shri Dhami said that the post of Transport Constable is very important in the Transport Department, whether it is the smooth operation of passenger services, monitoring of road safety, vehicle registration process or pollution control, they have an important role in every system. Therefore, this job of yours is not just a government job, but also a social responsibility.
Chief Minister Shri Dhami said that I expect from the newly appointed Transport Constables that you will not only maintain dedication and discipline at your workplace, but will also work with a spirit of dialogue and cooperation with the public. Efforts should be made that the work of the common people should be on auto mode, they should not have to wander unnecessarily. The government is committed to eradicate the work culture of corruption from its roots. Complaints of corruption are being heard effectively on toll free number 1064. Chief Minister Shri Dhami said that the Transport Department is committed to providing smooth and safe services in the state. But we all know that as the number of vehicles in the state has increased, the number of road accidents has also increased alarmingly. Therefore, to prevent accidents in the state, we have implemented the “New Uttarakhand Road Safety Policy 2025” in February 2025. Under this policy, the target has been set to reduce the death rate in road accidents by 50 percent by the year 2030, by determining the responsibilities of all the concerned departments. I have full faith that all of you will cooperate in achieving this goal with full loyalty and dedication.
