SJVN celebrates World Environment Day 2025

SHIMLA, June 5: SJVN celebrated World Environment Day 2025 at Corporate Headquarters in Shimla and all its Projects. As part of the observance, Ajay Kumar Sharma, Director (Personnel), administered Environmental Conservation pledge to all employees, reaffirming the company's commitment to sustainable and eco-friendly practices.
Ajay Kumar Sharma in his address said that SJVN has been persistently making efforts towards nurturing nature and safeguarding the environment. At the individual as well as at the collective level, we must continue to contribute towards protecting and promoting our environment as it is pivotal for a sustainable future.
Various Competitions were organized for the employees at Corporate Headquarters to commemorate World Environment Day-2025 including Quiz Competition, Origami Contest and Best-out-of-Plastic Waste Competition. Ajay Kumar Sharma, Director (Personnel), awarded the winners of these competitions. Chander Shekhar Yadav, Executive Director (HR) and other senior officials were present on the occasion. As a token of environmental stewardship, saplings were distributed to dignitaries, promoting the message of green living.
The theme for World Environment Day 2025 is "Ending Plastic Pollution", along with the global slogan "Together we can #BeatPlasticPollution." Furthering its commitment to environmental protection, SJVN conducted an e-waste collection drive, successfully collecting around 30 kilograms of electronic waste for safe and responsible disposal.
