Injecting Fear
6/23/2025 11:35:49 PM
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh recently stated that Operation Sindoor’ launched by India last month in retaliation against the Pahalgam terror attack that left 26 civilians, mostly tourists dead, achieved all its objectives.
“Operation Sindoor achieved all objectives. It also succeeded in injecting fear into the minds of terrorists,” he said.
This operation which led to the destruction of nine terrorist camps deep inside Pakistan territory and the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir stood as a message to terrorist networks and their sponsors that India would respond with precision, decisiveness, and strength whenever its security is threatened.
The Pahalgam attack was a grim reminder of the persistent threats posed by cross-border terrorism. Targeting civilians, particularly tourists who symbolize normalcy and peace in the region, reveals the desperation of terrorist outfits to disrupt harmony and scare away development. In this context, Operation Sindoor was not merely a military counter-offensive; it was an assertion that such attempts to derail peace will be met with resolute action.
Beyond the battlefield, Operation Sindoor has significant political and diplomatic implications. Domestically, it reinforces the government’s image as one committed to national security and public safety. For the families of the victims and the people of Kashmir, it is a reaffirmation that justice is never denied. Internationally, it showcases India’s capability to conduct precise, intelligence-led operations, thereby strengthening its case against state-sponsored terrorism emanating from across the border.
While celebrating the operational success, it is important to recognize a comprehensive diplomatic engagement too is important.
Equally important is the need for continued international cooperation in tracking terror financing, disrupting recruitment networks, and holding states accountable that harbor or support terror outfits. India must leverage platforms like the United Nations, FATF, and bilateral channels to keep the pressure on and to isolate those enabling terrorism.
Operation Sindoor is a watershed moment in India’s fight against terror. It demonstrates not only the strength of our armed forces but also the resilience of a nation that refuses to bow before fear.
As Defence Minister Rajnath Singh rightly put it, the operation has instilled fear among terrorists—a fear that must be sustained through continuous vigilance and strategic preparedness.
Operation Sindoor is a reminder that India will neither forgive nor forget acts of terror and will respond with the might and resolve that such heinous acts deserve.
