GURDASPUR, Sept 11: Under the visionary leadership and guidance of Dr. S. K. Misra, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Sardar Beant Singh State University (SBSSU) Gurdaspur, a training session for the Entrepreneurship Mindset Mentors was successfully organized on 08.09.2025 at the university campus.
The Entrepreneurship Mindset Course is an important initiative of the Government of Punjab, designed to equip students with essential life skills such as problem-solving, resilience, adaptability, teamwork, and, most importantly, the confidence to convert innovative ideas into actionable solutions. This initiative aims to create a generation of young entrepreneurs who can contribute effectively to the socio-economic development of the state and the nation.
The session commenced with a warm welcome address by the Dean Academic Affairs, who also felicitated Suraj Yadav, Program Lead, Punjab Startup, for his contributions to promoting entrepreneurial culture among students. During the training, mentors were provided with valuable hands-on experience, and their queries were addressed comprehensively.
On this occasion, Dr. S. K. Misra, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, appreciated the efforts of the Punjab Government in introducing this forward-looking initiative. He emphasized the significance of nurturing entrepreneurial thinking among students and highlighted the crucial role of startups in driving innovation, self-reliance, and sustainable growth in the state as well as across the country. Dr. Misra also expressed pride in stating that SBSSU Gurdaspur is the first university in Punjab to adopt and notify the Entrepreneurship Mindset Course, thereby setting a benchmark for other institutions to follow.
