Omkar Dattatray

The meteoric journey and rise of C.P. Radhakrishnan from RSS Swayamsevak and Prachark to the second highest constitutional post and position is awe inspiring and a journey of an honest son of the soil from Tamil Nadu. He is soft spoken, honest, discipled and nationalist as well as patriotic and he has at his back a fund of knowledge and administrative experience and skill and it is hoped that he will further and promote parliamentary democracy and decorum. C.P. Radhakrishnan will be an asset and an able chairman of the Raj Sabha and he will play his innings well in consonance with the highest traditions of constitution and in accordance with the ideals of parliamentary democracy. He is nationalist par excellence and is our national icon and role model as he is worthy of emulation. C.P. Radhakrishnan is famous for selfless service to the nation and he has been working for strengthening the unity and integrity of the country. He has become 15th Vice-president of India and with him at the helm of affairs a new era of parliamentary debate and discussion has begin and he will give new direction to the parliament debate and discourse. Strongly rooted in the RSS and the BJP. Chandrapuram Ponnusamy Radhakrishnan was elected Vice -President of India and he is the third person from Tamil Nadu to occupy this great constitutional post and with his acumen and experience of decades our constitutional and parliamentary democracy will be furthered. He will rise above politics and perform his duties and responsibilities with unbiased bent of mind and will give equal opportunity to members from all political parties to raise public issues and ensure the participation of the parliamentarians in the debates and discussions and thereby strengthening the roots of democracy in the country. The great leader is soft spoken and non -confrontational and the 67 old Radhakrishnan succeeds Jagdeep Dhankhar ,who resigned as the Vice-President on July 21,taking everyone by surprise. Radhakrishnan was serving as the governor of Maharashtra when he was named as the vice-presidential nominee of the BJP-NDA. He was a two-time MP from Coimbatore TN during the tenure of prime minister A.B. Vajpayee. Radhakrishnan joined RSS at a very young age and rose through the ranks of the organisation and later in the BJP, gaining acceptability and recognition in the BJP and the state. Radhakrishnan belonged to socially and economically well-off Kongu Vellalar Gounder community. He was adorned as the TN secretary of the BJP in 1996 and served as the party’s state unit president between 2003and 2006. Radhakrishnan brings with him a vast experience and fund of Knowledge as well as administrative skills which will definitely prove him in good stead as the chairman of the Raj Sabha. He was a good sportsman and his love for sports is well known. Radhakrishnan was a college champion in table tennis and a long distance runner .He also enjoyed cricket and volleyball. He is considered an unblemished and honest leader having rich political and administrative experience and skills which will prove very helpful to him in ably discharging his duties and responsibilities as the ex -officio chairman of the Raj sabha. Radhakrishnan has rich political experience having been the two time MP and also the governor of various states and so he was the best and appropriate choice for the vice-president post. His parliamentary interventions were praiseworthy and incisive. During his role at the gubernatorial post and tenure he always made it a point to serve the common man ,thus attracting him the apathete of being messiah of the common man and earned him much praise which he rightly deserved. He has vast experience and knowledge of constitutional matters which will prove him very beneficial while heading the upper house of the parliament. Prime minister Narendra Modi was apt when he stated that he will be an inspiring vice -president. Through his experience, administrative experience and political acumen, the discussions, debates as well as discipline and decorum of the Raj sabha will not only be maintained but also get further boost and the functioning and proceedings of the upper house will be carried on in accordance with the highest ideals of non-partisan manner for the ultimate benefit of the people. He has been held in high esteem by the TN unit of the BJP and that is the reason that he has been given the posts of governor of Jharkhand, Telangana, Maharashtra and Puducherry. His political innings commenced with his association with RSS and Jan sangh. Radhakrishnan was a student leader and to considered politics as a medium to serve the people and nation. His un blemished and track record of holding electoral ,organisational and constitutional responsibilities shows that he is set to create history as the vice-president of India. Born on October 20,1957 ,at Tiruppur in Tamil Nadu ,he has bachelors degree in Business Administration. Starting as an RSS activist at the age of 16 years ,he rose to state executive member of the Bharatiya Jan Sangh in 1974 and between 2004 and 2007 ,Radhakrishnan served as the Tamil Nadu BJP chief. The new vice-president can help end combative hostilities in the Rajya Sabha. C.P. Radhakrishnan, 68 joined the RSS as a teenager, has been elected as the vice-president of India. marking another attempt by the BJP to link its version of nationalist ideology with the Sangh Parivar agenda. Mr. Radhakrishnan was a member of the TN Jan Sangh executive committee by 1974 - a time when the Sangh Parivar’s presence in TN was marginal and his political affiliation was clearly inspired by ideology than careerism. On September 9,2025, he became the vice-president of India, a reward for his ideological fealty on one hand, and as a milestone in his journey of the RSS on the other. He served on parliamentary committee and a special committee investigating a stock market scam. He also represented India at the UN General Assembly. From 2004 to 2007, he as BJP NT president, he undertook a 93days ‘’Rath Yatra’’, advocating river linking, ending untouchability, countering terrorism, and promoting a Uniform Civil Code. As V-P, he will also function as the Chairman of Raj Sabha, which will test his political acumen. Mr. Radhakrishnan has his task cut out. With his affable demeanour, he just might be able to nudge the government and the opposition towards better cooperation and less combativeness. In short he will set new benchmarks of constitutional probity while serving as the head of Raj Sabha and in his role as the vice-president of India.
