Environmental protection parallel to development
9/27/2025 10:35:50 PM
Vijay Garg

There has been a very deep connection between nature and man since the beginning of civilization. The two complement each other, but today it seems that the human being is left with nature. It’s not that environmental concerns seem to be shrinking, but balance is an essential aspect of human civilization. Where there used to be forests, it’s all green now. The parallel development of the growing population is an inevitable condition. But in this order, with the uncontrolled cutting of trees in many places, forests have been steadily declining over the past few years as a major crisis faces the ecology. At a time when environmentalists are expressing concern about declining forests around the world, the report from the Forest Survey of India (FSI) has given some relief. According to India, the total forest and tree cover area of India has increased by 1,445 square kilometres from 2021 to 2023. Madhya Pradesh is at the forefront of keeping the country green Greenery has also increased in Arunachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Odisha than two years ago. This indicates that social forest festivals and plantations, which have been going on in the country for many years, are beginning to show an impact. is. However, the fact that forest and tree cover has decreased in Uttarakhand and Northeast states is worrying. At first glance, it may be relieving that the country’s forest and tree cover has grown to more than a quarter (25.17 percent) of its total geographical area in the last two years, but ecological sustainability is maintained at national level. National Forest Policy- At least one third of the country’s total geographical area should be forested. The FSI started the survey report in 1987. Since then The two percent increase is close. Obviously, the forests in India are not naturally productive due to population growth, urbanization and industrialization like other countries of the world. The importance of development projects cannot be denied, but logging is a major problem for mining, but the Supreme Court has also expressed concern from time to time. It is worth noting that most of the increase recorded in green areas are outside natural forests, which result from plantation and agriculture based forestry. Of course these efforts have their own significance, but the full trees of Praca Natural Forest can’t be compared to planting campaigns in cities until plants are fully developed. The ongoing debate on the Forest Amendment Act (2023) also increases in importance. This amendment concerns the removal of unclassified forest. It is worth noting that more than sixteen per cent of the total forest area falls under this category, which would be potentially at risk from infrastructure projects. It can be said that efforts to increase the scope of green areas through planting and agricultural forestry are certainly commendable, but preserving natural forests is just as important. The world is moving towards urbanization, but the reality is that urbanization poses far more challenges to our nature. With the development of cities, green spaces are shrinking around the world and concrete forests are growing. Not only that, the deteriorating environmental balance and climate. Cyclical changes are now plaguing the survival of many plant species as well as animals. While the relationship of environment is important in human life. Let’s say the two are complementary. Development is essential, but today the environment has been left on the sidelines. has no concern for the future. Today, the increasing number of deforestation seems to have taken place all over the world in order to meet population needs. The country’s herbs are on the brink of extinction from a deteriorating environment. It has also started to affect crops and fruit production. With the consequences of deteriorating ecosystems and human suffering in many ways, it is time to be aware of forest and wildlife conservation. Keeping natural balance is essential. It has started to shake the framework of economic growth. Hunger, food insecurity and poverty have affected not only developing and poor countries but also developed ones. The crises associated with fuel and biodiversity have also affected economic growth. In this odd situation, we must also make a commitment to save the parallel Earth.
