DAV to host ATAL Academy sponsored faculty development program on Artificial Intelligence

AMRITSAR, Oct 13: The Post Graduate Department of Computer Science and IT of DAV College, Amritsar, is proud to announce that it is going to organise a one-week Faculty Development Program (FDP) on the theme "AI for Atmanirbhar Bharat: Empowering Innovation, Industry and Inclusive Growth." The program is scheduled to run online from 13th to 18th October 2025.
This prestigious FDP is fully sponsored by the AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy, an initiative of the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi, aimed at enhancing the quality of technical education in India.
The program aims to equip faculty members, researchers, and industry professionals with advanced knowledge and practical skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its transformative potential. Aligned with the national vision of an 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' (Self-Reliant India), the FDP will explore how AI can be a catalyst for innovation, drive industrial growth, and foster inclusive development across various sectors of the economy.
Dr. Amardeep Gupta, Principal of DAV College, Amritsar, expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, "We are honored to receive the support of the ATAL Academy for this timely program. Empowering our educators with cutting-edge knowledge in AI is a critical step towards building a future-ready workforce. This FDP perfectly aligns with our commitment to academic excellence and contributes to the nation's goal of self-reliance through technological empowerment."
Coordinator of the program, Prof Vikram Sharma added that over the next six days, participants will have the opportunity to engage with distinguished experts from the IT industry and eminent academicians from reputed institutions. The FDP will feature 12 renowned resource persons, including 7 overseas experts from the USA, Germany, Australia, and Sri Lanka.
