Empower Divyangjans
12/4/2025 10:48:21 PM
While addressing an event held to observe “International Day of Persons with Disabilities,” Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha called on people from all sections of the society and the officials to ensure that every possible support and help is provided to Divyangjans.
LG Sinha hailed the resilience of Divyangjans and assured them that the government is committed to building a system that aligns with their dreams and aspirations and eliminating all challenges and barriers that may come in their way.
The specially abled people need to be accommodated in every possible way and they need to be provided equal opportunities so that they don’t remain deprived of any benefits. Everyone has to ensure that their dignity is maintained an they get access to education, skills, and livelihoods. It requires a societal transformation. The responsibility lies with each citizen to ensure that empathy guides daily interactions and that no individual is made to feel less capable or less worthy.
A change has to commence from the schools that need to become more inclusive with adaptive learning tools. Workplaces must adopt universal design, ensuring that specially abled employees receive the accommodations they need to thrive. Public infrastructure must be redesigned with accessibility as the norm rather than an afterthought.
Since the day Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken over the reins of the country he has laid special focus on providing equal opportunities, equal rights, and a quality life to Divyangjans.
The country is moving towards building a system where accessibility is the norm, where every Divyangjan has access to all facilities and the advanced technical tools needed to live a life with dignity and respect.
Technology holds the key. AI-powered learning tools from screen-reading software to advanced mobility devices can prove to be of a great help. India must continue investing in and expanding access to these innovations so that Divyangjans can break free from limitations imposed by circumstance.
LG Sinha’s vision resonates strongly with the aspirations of a modern India—an India where every citizen can dream without barriers, where accessibility is embedded into governance, and where inclusivity defines development. As the country moves steadfastly in this direction, the onus is on society to walk beside the government in building an environment of respect, opportunity, and empowerment.
A truly developed nation is not measured merely by economic indicators but by how it treats its most vulnerable citizens. In championing the cause of Divyangjans, India is not just fulfilling a constitutional obligation—it is embracing humanity at its finest.
