Tawi Welfare Society holds annual general body meeting

Jammu, Dec 22: Tawi Welfare Society held its Annual General Body Meeting at Apna Van, Suray Chak, the headquarters of the Society on 21st of December 2025.
The meeting witnessed the participation of a large number of members, who reviewed the Society’s activities and achievements during the past year.
The meeting was organised under the chairmanship of the Chief Patron of Society Dr. Dinesh Gupta. Smt. Geetu Aulakh, District Development Council Member, attended the function as the special invitee.
The Annual Report was presented by the General Secretary, Sh. Yash Paul Mangotra, who highlighted the various welfare and development works carried out by the Society in the Tawi Island area and its surrounding regions.
Members expressed satisfaction over the execution of these works, particularly appreciating the Society’s commendable role in restoring the emergency spots those were damaged due to the heavy floods in the month of August. Detailed discussions were also held on proposed projects and future plans for the coming year.
The Chief Patron and the DDC Member lauded the Society’s consistent contribution towards local development and its dedicated service to the needy sections of society.
They assured their full cooperation and support to the Society in the future as well.
On the occasion, the Society felicitated its recently retired Senior Executive Member, Sh. Sarwan Joshi, in recognition of his dedicated and selfless services. Members unanimously expressed confidence in the present leadership of TWS and resolved to continue with the same team for the time being.
A Preeti Bhoj programme, titled “Alvida 2025 – Sneh Milan and Preeti Bhoj Samaroh”, was also organised, in which family members of the volunteers of Tawi Welfare Society and other prominent persons associated with the Society participated.
The event and the delicious food served were highly appreciated by all attendees.
