Closing ceremony of 6th district Doda Taekwondo Championships 2025–26 concludes

Doda, Dec 22: The 6th District Doda Taekwondo Championships 2025–26 concluded successfully with an impressive closing ceremony at the Indoor Sports Hall, Doda. The two-day championship was organised by the Taekwondo Association of District Doda under the aegis of the J&K Taekwondo Association (JKTA) and the J&K Sports Council (JKSC), and was held from 20th to 21st December 2025.
The opening ceremony of the championship was graced by the Chief Guest, Shri Jaffer Haider Sheikh, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Doda, who appreciated the efforts of the organisers in promoting Taekwondo at the grassroots level and motivating youth towards sports.
Several distinguished personalities were present as Guests of Honour, including Mr. Muzamil Rashid (REK), Mr. Irfan Malik (Journalist), Mr. Babar Mujahid (Coach), Mr. Nadeem Niaz (Coach), and Mr. Haroon Zaffer (Coach), who encouraged the young athletes and applauded their performances.
Around 150 players from various schools and clubs across District Doda participated enthusiastically in the championship. The medal winners will now represent District Doda in the upcoming 28th J&K UT Taekwondo Championships 2025–26, which is recognised by the J&K Sports Council.
The championship was successfully led by Mr. Junaid Ali Khan, President, Taekwondo Association of District Doda, along with Mr. Burhan Ud Din Khan, Executive Member, JKTA. The event was smoothly conducted with the dedicated support of referees including Mr. Amit Kumar (NR), Mr. Rakesh Singh (NR), Mr. Tahir Mushtaq (SR), Ms. Radha Sharma (SR), Mr. Shivansh Rajput (SR), and Mr. Aniket (SR).
During the closing ceremony, the Chief Guest distributed medals and mementos among the winners and officials, appreciating their hard work and commitment.
In the overall team standings, Shield Taekwondo Academy clinched the Overall Winner Trophy, Falcon Taekwondo Club secured the Runner-Up Trophy, while Chenab Sports Academy finished as the 2nd Runner-Up.
