CIS Jammu, celebrates Annual Sports Day

Jammu, Dec 24: Cambridge International School, Jammu, marked the celebration of its Annual Sports Day “Vijayaa Ghosham” with splendor, discipline, and an abiding spirit of sportsmanship. The momentous occasion was graced by Mr. Gurdev Kumar (JKAS), Joint Director, School Education Department, Jammu, who presided over the event as the Chief Guest.
The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and the Ganesh Vandana after which the sports meet was formally declared open. The igniting of the torch and the oath ceremony underscored the values of integrity, fair play, and commitment that lie at the heart of sports.
The event was further enriched by the august presence of Er. Vidhi S. Singh, Chairman, CIS as Guest of Honour and Er. Renu Bangroo, Managing Director, CIS as the Special Guest who graced the occasion.
Following an impressive march past, the commencement of Vijayaa Ghosham unfolded through a series of well-orchestrated athletic and cultural presentations. Students from various grades demonstrated remarkable enthusiasm and skill through track events, relays, and competitive races including Teacher’s race. The programme was further elevated by captivating displays of taekwondo, yoga, and rope skipping, reflecting a fine balance between physical strength, discipline, and mindfulness.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest applauded the school’s unwavering commitment to holistic education and emphasized the role of sports in building resilience, leadership, and character among students. His words served as a source of inspiration for young athletes and educators alike.
The celebration concluded with a felicitation ceremony acknowledging outstanding performances, followed by a heartfelt vote of thanks. Vijayaa Ghosham emerged as a memorable and meaningful occasion, reinforcing Cambridge International School, Jammu’s dedication to nurturing excellence, discipline, and all-round development.
The entire event was organized under the leadership and guidance of Principal, Ms. Pooja Chib and Vice- Principal, Mrs. Rajni Malhotra.
