Director Agriculture reviews expenditure status, progress under various departmental schemes

Jammu, Dec 26: A high-level review meeting to assess the status of expenditure against funds released during the current financial year was held today at the Conference Hall, Directorate of Agriculture, Jammu, under the chairmanship of the Director Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare Jammu, Sh. Anil Gupta.
The meeting was attended by Joint Director Agriculture (Extension) Sh. Sanjay Anand, Joint Director Agriculture (SLUB/Farms) Sh. Aman Jyoti Sharma, Deputy Director Planning, Accounts Officer, all Sectoral Heads, all Chief Agriculture Officers of Jammu Division, Technical Officers, State Heads and representatives of insurance companies, along with the staff of the Directorate of Agriculture.
During the meeting, a comprehensive review was conducted of CSS, CAPEX, NABARD and HADP for the financial year 2025–26. The proposed action plans under different Centrally Sponsored Schemes for the financial year 2026–27 were also discussed in detail.
Director Agriculture Jammu emphasized the importance of timely and optimal utilization of funds, strict adherence to financial rules, and outcome-oriented implementation of schemes. He directed all Chief Agriculture Officers to expedite field-level execution, regularly monitor both physical and financial progress, and ensure prompt submission of utilization certificates to avoid any lapse of funds.
Director Sh. Anil Gupta also instructed that, in case any district is facing issues, updated district-wise proposed action plans for CSS for FY 2026–27 must be submitted within one day. Emphasizing financial discipline, he directed the officers to work in close coordination with executing agencies so that expenditure bills are submitted in a timely manner, and issued clear instructions that all pending bills must be submitted before December 30, 2025.
During the meeting, the Director also reviewed the enrolment status under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) for the Rabi season. He directed the concerned officers to ensure that the district-wise enrolment targets are achieved by December 31, 2025, the last date for registration, and stressed the need for close coordination with banks and insurance companies for smooth implementation. He further directed the insurance companies to ensure timely settlement of pending claims pertaining to the Kharif 2025 season.
