12/26/2025 10:10:15 PM
Early Times Report
RAMBAN, Dec 26: In continuation of its sustained efforts to curb drug menace and dismantle the financial networks of offenders, Ramban Police today carried out the attachment of a residential house belonging to a notorious drug peddler in Gool area, after following due legal process. The attached property belongs to Mohd Saleem Shaan, son of Abdul Rashid Shaan, resident of Zalas, Gool Tehsil, District Ramban. The attachment has been effected under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act in connection with an ongoing investigation by Police Station Gool, on the directions of the competent authority. The said property has been identified as proceeds of crime, acquired through illegal gains from drug trafficking, and is valued at approximately Rs 13.64 lakhs.
The accused is a habitual offender and is involved in five NDPS cases registered at Police Station Gool, involving commercial and intermediate quantities of contraband drugs, namely:
FIR No. 50/2012 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act
FIR No. 35/2018 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act
FIR No. 74/2022 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act
FIR No. 120/2023 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act
FIR No. 121/2023 U/S 8/20/29 NDPS Act
This decisive action marks the first such initiative by Ramban Police to financially cripple drug smugglers by targeting and attaching assets acquired through illegal means. The move sends a strong message that no individual involved in narcotics trafficking will be allowed to enjoy the proceeds of crime.
Ramban Police reiterates its unwavering commitment to act firmly against drug peddlers and their networks, to protect the youth, and to uphold the rule of law. Such stringent measures will continue as part of the district police's zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking.
