IQAC GDC Bhaderwah organised two day international Conference

Bhaderwah, Dec 28: An international Conference on Environment, Forestry and Sustainable Agriculture was organised on 26–27 December 2025 through virtual mode. The conference was organised by the International Academy of Science and Research (IASR), Kolkata, in association with the Scientific and Environmental Research Institute (SERI), Kolkata, and the Confederation of Indian Universities (CIU), New Delhi, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Government Degree College Bhaderwah.
The conference commenced with an impressive Inaugural Session on 26 December 2025. The session began with a welcome address by Dr. Ajaz Ahmad Wani, IQAC Coordinator and co organising secretary of conference who highlighted the role of higher education institutions in promoting quality research and environmental responsibility. Dr.Tanmoy Rudra, Secretary, IASR elaborated on the objectives of IASR and the ICEFSA conference series. Eminent academicians including Prof. (Dr.) Chittaranjan Kole, President, International Climate Resilient Crop Genomics Consortium and former Vice-Chancellor, delivered the initial remarks.
The inaugural session was graced by Prof. Basharat Iqbal, Principal, Government P.G. College Bhaderwah, who addressed the gathering as Guest of Honour. In his address, Prof. Iqbal emphasised the pivotal role of higher education institutions in fostering environmental awareness, sustainable development and research-led academic culture. He appreciated the collaborative efforts of IQAC, Govt. Degree College Bhaderwah especially Dr. Ajaz A. Wani IQAC Co-ordinater GDC Bhaderwah, and underscored the importance of such international academic engagements in enriching faculty and student research competencies.
The inaugural session also featured addresses by Prof. (Dr.) Binay Chakraborty from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Dhaka, and a keynote lecture by Prof. (Dr.) Pramod Katti, Director, Environmental Management and Policy Research Institute (EMPRI), Government of Karnataka. A plenary lecture was delivered by Dr. Sabita Mondal, Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya, West Bengal.
The conference featured several Technical Sessions over both days, wherein academicians, scientists, researchers and students presented research papers on diverse themes related to environment, forestry and sustainable agriculture. The sessions were chaired by eminent experts and witnessed active participation and enriching academic discussions.
The two-day international conference concluded with a Valedictory Session on 27 December 2025. The valedictory session was graced by Prof. Zaheer Abbas Hashmi former controller of examination Cluster university of Jammu as Guest of Honour, who highlighted the importance of community-centric ecological practices and sustainable development. The organisers lauded the contributions of participants and acknowledged the vital role played by IQAC, Government Degree College Bhaderwah, in ensuring the successful conduct of the conference.
The whole programme was coordinated by Dr.Arnesha Guha secretary of Scientific and Environmental Research Institute.
