Kathua Admin Cup: GDC Kathua XI cruises to 6- wicket win over DIC XI

KATHUA, Dec 28: The fourth match of the ongoing Kathua Admin Cup Cricket Tournament was played today at the GDC Kathua playground between DIC XI and GDC Kathua XI. DIC XI won the toss and elected to bat first. Batting first, DIC XI posted a modest total of 111 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Vishav Partap top-scored with a brisk 32 runs off 21 balls, including one six and four boundaries. Gagan Deep contributed 18 runs off 23 balls with three fours, while Narayan Singh added 17 runs off 22 balls, hitting one four and one six. GM Mushtaq Chaudhary chipped in with 9 runs off 11 balls, including a boundary.
GDC Kathua XI bowlers put up an impressive show, led by Yasir who delivered a brilliant spell of 4 overs, conceding just 11 runs and claiming four crucial wickets. Umar provided effective support by picking up three wickets for 20 runs in his four-over spell.
In reply, GDC Kathua XI chased the target comfortably in 15.5 overs. Opener Gautam Singh anchored the innings with an unbeaten 37 runs off 40 balls, which included one six and three fours. Arvind scored 18 runs off 18 balls with three boundaries, while Abid added 11 runs off 10 balls, hitting two fours. Zahid contributed 7 runs off 8 balls with one four.
For DIC XI, Gagan Deep emerged as the most successful bowler, taking two wickets for 13 runs in four overs, while GM Mushtaq Chaudhary also claimed two wickets, conceding 23 runs in his four-over spell.
Yasir of GDC Kathua XI was declared Man of the Match for his outstanding bowling performance. His four-wicket haul at the cost of just 11 runs proved decisive in restricting DIC XI and laid a strong foundation for the successful chase.
With this win, GDC Kathua XI registered a convincing victory, showcasing a balanced performance in both bowling and batting departments in the Kathua Admin Cup Cricket Tournament.
