GURDASPUR, Dec 28: Under the wise leadership and guidance of Dr. S. K. Misra, Vice-Chancellor of Sardar Beant Singh State University, Gurdaspur, Punjab, the university observed Veer Bal Diwas with great reverence and enthusiasm. The programme was organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS) to commemorate the supreme sacrifice and unparalleled bravery of the Sahibzadas of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
The event was graced by Sardar Amardeep Singh Jolly as the chief speaker. In his address, he elaborated in detail on the life, teachings, and sacrifices of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and his four Sahibzadas. He highlighted how their martyrdom stands as an eternal source of inspiration for humanity, symbolizing courage, faith, sacrifice, and commitment to justice and righteousness. He urged students to follow these ideals in their personal and professional lives.
The programme witnessed the presence of Registrar Dr. Ajay Kumar, Dean Student Welfare Dr. Gurupadam Singh, NSS Coordinator Dr. Rajesh Sharma, Assistant Dean Student Welfare Dr. Sukhwinder Veer Singh, and Ms. Jaspreet Kaur. University faculty members, staff, and a large number of students actively participated in the event, making it meaningful and impactful.
Speakers emphasized the importance of remembering the sacrifices of the Sahibzadas and instilling moral values, patriotism, and social responsibility among the youth. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and a collective resolve to uphold the ideals of bravery, selflessness, and service to society as exemplified by the Sahibzadas.
