Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Dec 28: Ranbir Singh Pathania, MLA Udhampur East, today held an interactive and consultative session at Roundmail Gaushala with the Gaushala Management Committee and local stakeholders. During the interaction, he lauded the positive and proactive role of civil society in advancing cow protection and responsible vigilance, appreciating the community's sustained efforts and collective energy dedicated to this cause. He emphasized that such community-driven initiatives strengthen social harmony and reinforce ethical animal welfare practices.
Focus on Livelihood Enhancement
The session also focused on strengthening animal husbandry as a sustainable livelihood avenue in the area. Pathania discussed practical pathways to enhance incomes through Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Poultry, and allied activities, highlighting the need for convergence of departmental schemes with grassroots projects. A facilitatory meeting with concerned departments was held, wherein stakeholders were encouraged to prepare project proposals under relevant schemes.
The MLA assured that eligible projects would be supplemented through Constituency Development Fund (CDF) support to ensure timely execution and scale-up. He stated, "These projects shall suffice to enhance livelihood and per capita incomes of the rearers. They are a significant step towards 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India)."
Commitment to Post-Disaster Rehabilitation
Later, an interactive public meeting at Chani Morh addressed post-disaster rehabilitation and restoration. Mr. Pathania described the allotment of 5-marla land by the Government to landless families who lost homes due to floods and heavy rains as a major relief and victory for affected households.
He assured that efforts would continue to expedite remaining formalities and extend essential facilities, reiterating a firm commitment to undo the damage caused by the calamity. He announced that drinking water supply and damaged infrastructure will be restored on priority, along with other critical services.
The meetings were attended by Samar Singh President Gauseva Committee, Puran Chand DDC, Ashish Sharma Mandal Pradhan, Mohinder Sharma Mandal Pradhan, and a galaxy of local residents. The MLA reaffirmed his resolve to work shoulder-to-shoulder with the community and departments to deliver animal welfare, livelihood enhancement, and comprehensive rehabilitation, ensuring resilient and inclusive development across Udhampur East.
