JKCCA, IAFA organize National Exhibition of Paintings at Amritsar

JAMMU, Dec 28: A National Exhibition of Paintings, organized by Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu, in collaboration with Indian Academy of Fine Arts (IAFA), Amritsar, was inaugurated by S. Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, President, Indian Academy of Fine Arts, Amritsar, on 27th December, 2025 at the Central Hall Art Gallery of Indian Academy of Fine Arts, Madan Mohan Malviya Road, Amritsar (Punjab). The art works of select 28 veteran and well known, as well, young artists of different states of India, depicting different trends & styles, techniques and mediums, have been displayed in the exhibition.
OP Sharma, Director JKCCA informed that JKCCA established during 1999, have been organizing various activities related to visual arts, literature and performing arts, independently and in collaboration with other organizations. He added that the organization has celebrated its Silver Jubilee during 2024-25.
The art works of VS Rahi, Dr. A K Dixit and Sakshi Bajaj (New Delhi); Jang S Verman, O P Sharma and Sunita Gandhi, Jammu, Kanwalnain Kour and Vishal Singh, Kathua and Aslam Naqshbandi, Srinagar (J&K); Dr. (Prof.) Saroj Rani, Varanasi, Vibha Singh, Noida, Shagufta Khanum and Pratima Singh, Lucknow (UP); Kuljeet Heer, Jalandhar and Gaytri, Ramesh Kumari, Amrit Pal Singh and Mansi, Hoshiarpur (Punjab); Mamta Patel, Yashwant Patel, Shailesh Patel, Neha Bedekar Patel and Kruti Patel, Vallabh Vidya Nagar (Gujrat); B R Bodade, Indore and Romika Bhasin, Bhopal (MP); and Dr. Mamta Singh and Mohmmed Moin, Dehradun and Dr. Neha Martolia, Srinagar (Uttrakhand) have been put on display in the show.
Two visual artists viz. Jang S. Verman, Jammu (J&K) and Yashwant Patel, Valabh Vidya Nagar (Gujrat) were conferred the JKCCA Life-Time Achievement Award on the artists for their significant contribution in the field of visual arts at national and international level. They were honoured through S. Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, in the presence of OP Sharma, Director JKCCA and other prominent personalities.
Speaking on this occasion, S. Rajinder Mohan Singh said that the Academy has been organizing national and regional art exhibitions in collaboration with various art organizations as well as by the Academy independently. He appreciated the team of JKCCA, Jammu that organizes art exhibitions at Amritsar and other places, thus promoting the art in the region.
O P Sharma, Director, JKCCA, Jammu, Smt. Tejinder Kaur, S. Sukhpal Singh, S. Kulwant Singh Gill, Dharminder Singh and local artists and art lovers were present on this occasion.
