Kishtwar police organises powerlifting championship under civic action programme

KISHTWAR, Dec 28: On the directions of SSP Kishtwar Sh. Naresh Singh-JKPS, District Police Kishtwar organised a Powerlifting Championship at District Police Lines (DPL) Kishtwar under the Civic Action Programme (CAP). Powerlifters from different parts of Kishtwar district enthusiastically participated in the championship, showcasing their strength, discipline, and sporting spirit.
Addressing the participants on the occasion, Addl. SP Kishtwar said that Kishtwar Police is committed to providing a positive platform to the talented youth of the district so that they can showcase their abilities, channel their energy in a constructive direction, and stay away from drugs, social evils, criminal activities, and anti-national tendencies. He emphasized that sports play a vital role in character building, discipline, and overall personality development of youth.
The prizes were distributed by Addl. SP PC Kishtwar, accompanied by Dy. SP PC Kishtwar in the championship, outstanding performers were felicitated with cash prizes, gold medals, trophies, and certificates. Momin Dar secured top positions in the Junior and Senior categories and was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 30,000/-. In the Sub-Junior category, Dawar Javed emerged victorious and was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 5,000/-, along with a trophy, medal, and certificate. Other participants were also awarded medals and certificates for their commendable performances.
In his message, SSP Kishtwar Naresh Singh-JKPS lauded the enthusiastic participation of the youth and reiterated the commitment of Kishtwar Police towards promoting sports and healthy activities. He encouraged the youth to actively participate in sports and join hands in the fight against drug abuse for building a healthy, peaceful, and progressive society.
The event was witnessed by Addl. SP Kishtwar Pardeep Singh Goria-JKPS, Addl. SP PC Kishtwar Nisar Khoja-JKPS, Dy. SP Headquarters Dr. Ishan Gupta-JKP, Dy. SP PC Kishtwar Sharvan Singh-JKPS, besides other officers of the Police Department. A huge gathering of spectators was also present, who continuously boosted the morale of the participating powerlifters.
