| MLA Bahu Ch Vikram Randhawa initiates crate work in Chaata Panchayat | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 29: MLA Bahu Ch. Vikram Randhawa today initiated crate work in Chaata Panchayat of the Bahu constituency, in the presence of officials from the Irrigation and Flood Control Department and local panchayat dignitaries.
The area has suffered extensive damage due to recent floods, causing severe loss to public property and posing risks to local residents. Taking serious note of the situation, the MLA issued strict instructions to the concerned department officials to immediately prepare estimates for the remaining crate work and complete the same at the earliest to prevent further damage.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Randhawa said that flood protection and safety of lives and property is a top priority. He added that he will personally visit every corner of the flood-affected areas of the Bahu constituency along with department officials to review the ground situation and ensure timely execution of all protective measures.
The MLA further assured that all flood control works will be executed with quality materials and strict monitoring, and adequate funds will be mobilized wherever required to strengthen embankments and protect vulnerable habitations in the constituency.
Local residents and panchayat representatives expressed gratitude to MLA Bahu Ch. Vikram Randhawa for his timely intervention and assured full cooperation with the department. The MLA reiterated that development and disaster-mitigation works in flood-prone areas of the constituency will be closely monitored to ensure quality and timely completion.
