NSS Special Winter Camp 2025 concludes at GDC Kakryal

Reasi, Dec 30: The last day of the NSS Special Winter Camp 2025 at Government Degree College, Kakryal, Katra, was observed on 30 December 2025. The programme was organized under the able guidance of the worthy Principal of the college, Dr. Rajni Bhagat, marking the formal culmination of a week-long engagement rooted in discipline, social responsibility, and experiential learning. The day commenced with a solemn morning assembly, setting a reflective and disciplined tone for the valedictory proceedings. This was followed by the commencement of the valedictory function in the multipurpose hall of the college, held in the august presence of the faculty members namely Dr. Sajad, Prof. Shikha Bhasin, Dr. Harmeet Singh, Dr. Amreen, Dr. Ishfaq Parry, Dr. Bilal, Dr. Ishfaq Bhat, Dr. Bindu, Ms. Somalya, and Mr. Hilal. In total 40 NSS volunteers participated in the programme. The programme witnessed a cultural and intellectual confluence as Sonika Sharma (Sem V) and Mehak Sharma (Sem V) presented a patriotic song, invoking a sense of national consciousness and collective responsibility. Thereafter, Shruti (Sem I) recited a poem that reflected the ethical underpinnings and social sensitivity fostered during the camp. Adding a personal dimension to the proceedings, NSS volunteer Shivani Charak (Sem V) articulated her experiences of the camp, highlighting the transformative impact of community engagement and teamwork. Subsequently, the comprehensive report of the NSS Special Winter Camp was presented by Dr. Usha Sharma, NSS Programme Officer, encapsulating the objectives, activities, and outcomes of the seven-day programme. The report underscored the camp’s emphasis on social awareness, civic responsibility, and the holistic development of student volunteers. In her address, Dr. Rajni Bhagat, Principal of the college, appreciated the dedication and discipline displayed by the NSS volunteers, and lauded the coordinating efforts of the NSS unit.
