3% discount scheme on booking unreserved tickets through “Rail One” App to benefit passengers
12/30/2025 6:54:20 PM

early times report

Jammu, Dec 30: Railways has announced a 3 percent discount for passengers booking unreserved tickets through the “Rail One” mobile app in the New Year 2026. This scheme will come into effect from 14 January, 2026.
The “Rail One” app was launched on 1 July, 2025 by the Hon’ble Minister for Railways, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw. The app offers multiple facilities, including unreserved ticket booking, platform ticket booking, ordering food during travel, train running status, grievance redressal, and more.
Recently, the Railway Board has introduced changes in the “Rail One” app to provide better facilities and financial benefits to passengers. Under this initiative, a 3 percent discount will be given on booking unreserved tickets through the app using all digital payment modes. This discount will be applicable on unreserved ticket bookings made through the “Rail One” app with digital payments, excluding R-Wallet. The scheme will remain valid from 14 January, 2026 to 14 July, 2026.
The objective of this initiative is to reduce congestion at unreserved ticket counters and to encourage passengers to purchase tickets through digital platforms.
Commenting on this beneficial scheme for passengers, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Shri Uchit Singhal, said, “Providing a seamless and modern digital experience to our valued passengers is the goal of Indian Railways. The ‘Rail One’ app is an important step towards the Digital India initiative, bringing multiple facilities together on a single platform.” He further added that this scheme not only helps passengers save money but also establishes a distinct identity in the digital domain.
Passengers can download the Rail One app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
