Crime Branch Jammu (EOW) disposes of record no. of cases, complaints in the year 2025

Jammu, Dec 30: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Jammu of Crime Branch J&K has marked a landmark performance in 2025 by taking firm and decisive action against a wide range of economic offences across Jammu zone through meticulous investigations/enquiries, timely disposal of cases and proactive grievance redressal. The specialized wing dealt with complex frauds, cheating, forgery, job scams and financial irregularities, emerging as a key pillar in safeguarding transparency and the rule of law in Jammu and Kashmir.
During the year, EOW Jammu successfully disposed of ¬¬record number of case FIRs involving serious and intricate economic offences and registered 67 New cases which breaks the record of last 25 years. The monetary value of disposed of cases chargesheeted by the agency in the Hon’ble Courts of Law involve Rs. 20 Crores (approx) during the year.
A total of 22 accused persons involved in different FIRs of EOW Jammu have been arrested and different teams of EOW Jammu were deputed in Jammu zone and other states of India for conducting search and arrest of accused. These cases required meticulous scrutiny, detailed analysis of documentary & digital evidence, & sustained coordination with various government departments, banks, & financial institutions. The timely disposal of these FIRs stands as a testimony to the professionalism, dedication, and commitment of the officers and staff of the Wing. The wing played a vital role in public grievance redressal. A total of 1186 complaints resolved during the year. Each complaint was carefully assessed on factual and legal grounds.
The Wing also investigated numerous land frauds, high profile cases, impersonation cases, cheating incidents, Visa frauds, and misappropriation of govt. money and misuse of official position by the public servants with particular attention to illegal job consultancies operating in Jammu zone. During 2025, organized networks of land brokers, habitual offenders, and professional fraudsters involved in systematic economic crimes were identified and booked under law, sending a strong deterrent message.
Further strengthening investigations, Photo Sections of EOW Jammu established in different districts of Jammu Zone have done a remarkable job by providing comprehensive photographic coverage of crime scenes. These Photo Sections have effectively covered a total of 3599 scene of crimes in different types of cases registered at various Police Stations across Jammu Zone to cover crucial evidences.
Under the guidance and supervision of Crime Headquarters, J&K, the Economic Offences Wing performed its duties with dedication towards society by effectively preventing and detecting economic crimes, imparting awareness on New Criminal Laws to general public. EOW Jammu expresses its sincere gratitude to various Government departments, financial institutions including banks and the private sector for their continued cooperation and timely sharing of information, which greatly facilitated the investigation process and contributed to effective disposal of cases.
EOW Jammu remains committed to protecting public trust and urges citizens to stay vigilant and report economic offences promptly to ensure a transparent and secure economic environment.
