MLA Haveli Ajaz Jan graces concluding ceremony of Zia-Ul-Uloom's 'PlayFest' in Poonch

POONCH, Dec 30: The Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Haveli, Ajaz Jan, presided over the grand concluding ceremony of "PlayFest," a mega sports extravaganza organized by Zia-Ul-Uloom Higher Secondary School at the Sports Stadium. Addressing the gathering, MLA Ajaz Jan expressed high praise for the students and athletes of Jamia, commending their dedication and competitive spirit. He specifically appreciated the staff, the management of Jamia, and the Principal for their tireless efforts in organizing such a massive platform, noting that fostering sports talent is key to building a vibrant society.
The festival was inaugurated earlier by the Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Muhammad Sayeed (KAS) and the Chairman of the institution, Maulana Sayeed A. Habib. The event was marked by the presence of a galaxy of distinguished guests, including DySP Headquarters Neeraj Sharma, DySP Operations Azhar Amin, DySP DAR Shashi Kant, Dr. Khalil Reshi, Retd. Director Shoket Kazmi, Asad Nomani (Chairman Sarimastan Foundation), Dr. Shamim Banday, Mohd Qasim (DYSSO), and Khurshah Shah. These dignitaries, along with the ACR, lauded the students for their discipline and vigor, noting that the talent displayed was a testament to the school's commitment to holistic education.
The smooth execution of the multi-sport event was overseen by Principal Waheed A. Banday, who coordinated various high-stakes matches. The athletes excelled in diverse disciplines, including the raw power of Tug of War, the tactical maneuvers of Kabaddi, and the high-energy excitement of Cricket, alongside Volleyball, Badminton, and track events. As the curtains fell on PlayFest, the Principal and the Chairman expressed their immense pride in the athletes of Jamia. The event concluded with a formal prize distribution led by MLA Ajaz Jan, honoring the winners and reinforcing Zia-Ul-Uloom's commitment to excellence beyond the classroom.
