RAMBAN, Dec 30: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan today chaired a meeting of the District-Level Narco Coordination Committee (NCORD) to review and further strengthen the anti-drug measures in the district. The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police, Arun Gupta; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Varunjeet Singh Charak; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Shoket Hayat Mattoo; Chief Medical Officer, Child Health Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, District Social Welfare Officer and officers from the enforcement and line departments. The Sub-Divisional Magistrates and Tehsildars participated in the meeting through virtual mode. The Drug Control functionaries were asked to intensify surveillance of chemist shops and verify stocks to prevent unauthorized sale and misuse of psychotropic drugs. The DC instructed enforcement agencies to conduct joint inspections of courier centres, medical establishments and rehabilitation facilities and maintain strict vigilance on suspicious consignments to curb trafficking of banned and psychotropic substances. |
