SCERT Jammu concludes 5 Day Workshop

Jammu, Jan 2: The State council of Educational Research & Training, Divisional Office Jammu, carrying forward the transformative vision of NEP 2020 for main streaming vocational education in school curriculum, successfully concluded a 05- Day Workshop on Development of Short-Term Online Training Courses for Vocational Trainers (IT/ITes/ Retail) w.e.f 29th of December 2025 to 2nd January 2026.
In Pursuance of the provisions of the National Curricular Framework (NCF) 2023, the workshop focused on strengthening the integration of vocational education within school curriculum through competency based experiential and digitally enabled learning approaches. Aimed to build the capacity of vocational trainers to design flexible, learner -centric online courses aligned with stage-specific curricular goals and real-world skill requirements, workshop brought together 30 participants from ten Districts of Jammu Division.
The ceremonial inaugural began with the lighting of the traditional lamp followed by a brief concept note presented by Ms. Pooja Sharma, Coordinator of the programme, outlining the objectives and expected outcomes of the workshop.
Spanning over five days, the workshop was marked by extensive sequence of expert-led hands on sessions on themes: Reimagining Vocational Education as per NEP 2020, Innovative Pedagogical and AI tools for Vocational Education, Assessment and Evaluation in Vocational Education, Vocational /Skill Training for CWSN, facilitated by distinguished Academic Officers of SCERT Jammu , namely MS. Manu Vasudeva, Mr. Vivek Jandial, Mr. Rakesh Chobber & Mr. Sushil Hitashi respectively, fostering active participant’s engagement.
The smooth conduct of the programme was ensured through the dedicated efforts of the organizing committee comprising of academic officers namely Ms. Farhat John, Mr. Navneet Gupta, Dr. Sunita Sharma, Ms. Arsh Kour, Ms. Meena Thakur, Mr Ashok Kumar Sharma and Mr. Amit Sharma.
The workshop was meticulously coordinated by Ms. Pooja Sharma (Coordinator) & Ms. Sabha Rashid (Associate coordinator) under the supervision of Mr. Sanjeev Suri , Head of the Academic Unit.
The workshop culminated in a formal valedictory session graced by Prof. Sindhu Kapoor. Addressing the gathering she emphasized that the initiative represents a sustained step towards institutionalizing competency-based, learner-centric & future-ready vocational education in line with the transformative vision of NEP 2020 & commended the participant’s collective efforts in course development. The session featured presentations, reflective feedback from the participants and the award of certificates. Extending all the gratitude to the resource persons, organizing team and all the participants for their active engagement and valuable contributions to the programme’s success, vote of thanks was delivered by Dr.Vandana Gupta.
The successful completion of the workshop marks a significant milestone in translating the policy vision into actionable, scalable and learner-centric vocational education practices within schools.
