CLUJ flagged Off football team for North Zone Inter-University Tournament

Jammu, Jan 2: The Men’s Football Team of Cluster University of Jammu was formally flagged off today for participation in the prestigious North Zone Inter-University Football Tournament during a brief yet dignified ceremony held at the University campus. The event marked an important moment for the University’s sporting fraternity, reflecting its continued commitment to promoting excellence in sports alongside academics.
The team was flagged off by the Registrar, Cluster University of Jammu, Ms. Ankur Mhajan (KAS), who conveyed her warm wishes to the players, coaches, and accompanying officials. While interacting with the team, the Registrar emphasized the significance of discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship, stating that participation in inter-university competitions not only builds physical strength but also instills leadership qualities, resilience, and a sense of responsibility among students.
She expressed confidence that the University contingent would perform with determination and integrity, upholding the values and reputation of the institution at the national level.
The ceremony was graced by Dr. Vinod Bakshi, Director, Sports and Physical Education, who apprised the Registrar about the rigorous training, preparation, and selection process undertaken by the team.
Dr. Bakshi highlighted the sustained efforts of the Department of Sports and Physical Education in identifying and nurturing sporting talent, and in providing students with opportunities to compete on prominent inter-university platforms.
Also present on the occasion were Mr. Satpal Singh, Football Coach, Mr. Ravi Kumar, Physical Director, SPMR College of Commerce.
The presence of coaches and support staff underscored the collective effort behind the team’s preparation and participation. The University administration reiterated its full support to the team and wished them success in the forthcoming tournament.
