UDHAMPUR, Jan 2: Udhampur Police has achieved a significant milestone in its sustained fight against narcotics by securing 98 convictions in 77 NDPS cases during the year 2025. These convictions include 29 inter-state and 15 inter-district drug peddlers, reflecting the district police's focused action against organised drug networks.
The cases involved recoveries of poppy straw, charas, heroin and cannabis, registered across Police Stations Udhampur, Rehambal, Chenani, Ramnagar, and Majalta.
The recoveries were effected through naka checking, highway interceptions and continuous anti-narcotics drives. Each case was professionally investigated, timely charge-sheeted, and effectively pursued before the Hon'ble Courts, resulting in a high conviction rate-underscoring the coordinated efforts of Investigating Officers and Prosecution teams under the NDPS Act.
Udhampur Police urges the public to remain vigilant, report drug-related activities and actively support the fight against drug abuse.
