1/3/2026 10:28:42 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 3: The ticket checking staff of Northern Railway’s Jammu Division has performed several commendable acts of honesty while on duty, keeping in mind the service, convenience, and safety of passengers. In another instance of honesty, on January 2, 2026, Shri Mohinder Pal, a member of the ticket checking staff of Train No. 12414, returned an iPad to a female passenger who had forgotten it on the train during her journey. The incident occurred with a female passenger traveling from Jammu to Ambala Cantt on Train No. 12414, in cabin C of coach HA/1. She forgot her iPad in her cabin and deboarded at her destination station, Ambala Cantt. The train’s ticket checking staff, Shri Mohinder Pal, checked coach HA/1 after Ambala and found the woman’s iPad in cabin C. With the help of a Hand Held Terminal (HHT), the ticket checking staff traced the woman’s mobile number and contacted her. The woman confirmed that she had forgotten her iPad on her seat in her haste to deboard.

Following the necessary procedures, the ticket checking staff handed over the iPad to the woman after completing the verification process at the Ticket Inspector’s office in Delhi. The female passenger thanked the railways and the ticket checking staff for their honesty.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Shri Uchit Singhal, expressed his satisfaction over the incident, stating, “This is a testament to the dedication and passenger-centric service of the ticket checking staff, who prioritize the safety and convenience of rail passengers. Such incidents reflect the integrity of the ticket checking staff.”
