CLUJ flags off cultural contingent for North Zone Inter-University Youth Festival

JAMMU, Jan 5: Cluster University of Jammu (CLUJ) today flagged off its vibrant Cultural Contingent for participation in the 39th Inter-University Youth Festival (North Zone), being organised by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi, and hosted by Chitkara University, Chandigarh. The national-level festival brings together some of the finest young talents from universities across the northern region, offering a prestigious platform for artistic and cultural expression.
The flag-off ceremony was held at Government MAM College, Jammu, and was led by Dr. Twinkle Suri, Dean Academic Affairs, CLUJ, in the august presence of Prof. D. S. Manhas, Dean Students Welfare, Dr. Ashaq Hussain, Associate Dean Students Welfare, Dr. Devinder Kour, Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee, along with faculty members and administrative officials of the University.
In his message, the Vice-Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu, Prof. K. S. Chandrasekar, extended his heartfelt best wishes to the participating students. He underscored the importance of cultural platforms in higher education, stating that cultural engagement is a vital component of holistic learning. "Such national forums provide our students an opportunity to showcase their talent, confidence, and the rich cultural heritage of Jammu and Kashmir. I am confident that the contingent will represent the University with pride, discipline, and excellence," he remarked.
While interacting with the students, Dr. Twinkle Suri described the participants as cultural ambassadors of CLUJ. She encouraged them to perform with confidence, uphold discipline, and reflect the artistic, intellectual, and ethical values of the institution through their participation. Expressing his optimism, Prof. D. S. Manhas, Dean DSW, stated that the University's cultural contingent is well-prepared and capable of making a meaningful impact at the national-level youth festival.
The contingent comprises around 49 student participants and is being led by Dr. Ashaq Hussain, Associate Dean DSW, along with Dr. Devinder Kour, Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee and 9 other Professional artists. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ashaq Hussain informed that CLUJ will compete in 26 events spanning literary competitions, fine arts, dance and music. He added that the University's teams have undergone rigorous preparation and expressed confidence that the students will deliver outstanding performances and bring laurels to the institution.
