Intellectual Civil Society Delegation from Ladakh Calls on Hon'ble LG Shri Kavinder Gupta Ji in New Delhi

NEW DELHI, Jan 5: A delegation of the Intellectual Civil Society from Ladakh, comprising prominent business leaders and professionals, called on the Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor, Shri Kavinder Gupta Ji, in New Delhi. The meeting witnessed an extensive and constructive discussion on investment prospects, tourism expansion, sustainable industries, innovation-led entrepreneurship, and long-term socio-economic development opportunities in Leh and Ladakh.
The delegation placed on record its deep appreciation for the visionary leadership of the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the Hon'ble Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah for transformative decisions that have opened Leh and Ladakh to the rest of the world. Members acknowledged that these bold reforms have catalysed tourism, infrastructure development, business confidence, social initiatives, and CSR opportunities, positioning Ladakh as a safe, progressive, and attractive destination for national and global stakeholders.
The delegation was led by its Chairman, Shri S. S. Sodhi, and included:

oKaran Seth, Managing Partner, N.D. Radha Kishen & Co., a legacy transport company
oShiv Kant Khajuria, Managing Director, EEE Electric Car Company
All members of the delegation expressed a strong commitment to contributing to Ladakh's growth story through sustainable business practices, innovation, and responsible investment.
The delegation also appreciated the proactive role played by the local administration and the police department in maintaining peace, law and order, and a secure environment, which has been instrumental in promoting tourism and encouraging investment in Leh and Ladakh. In this context, the delegation warmly welcomed the newly appointed Director General of Police, Shri Mukesh Singh, describing him as a dynamic, humble, and upright officer. Members expressed confidence that under his leadership, policing in Ladakh would further strengthen public trust, safety, and the region's image as a safe tourism destination.
The delegation conveyed heartfelt thanks to the Hon'ble Prime Minister and the Hon'ble Union Home Minister for their discerning choice of dedicated and capable officers, whose leadership is playing a pivotal role in shaping Leh and Ladakh into a peaceful, secure, and development-oriented region.
During the interaction, Shri S. S. Sodhi especially commended the Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor for the progressive and inclusive sports policies introduced in recent years. He noted that these initiatives would significantly benefit students, sportspersons, schools, and emerging talent across Leh and Ladakh, fostering discipline, excellence, and national integration among youth.
The Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor reaffirmed the administration's commitment to transparent governance, investor-friendly policies, youth empowerment, innovation, sports development, and holistic socio-economic progress in the region.
The meeting concluded on an optimistic note, with the delegation reaffirming its resolve to actively contribute to nation-building and to support initiatives that promote peace, prosperity, and inclusive growth in Leh and Ladakh.
