JAMMU, Jan 7: MLA Nagrota, Ms. Devyani Rana, today chaired an extensive review meeting of the School Education Department to assess the status of education infrastructure and academic performance in government schools across the Nagrota Assembly Constituency, with special emphasis on schools damaged due to recent floods.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Education Officer (CEO), Jammu, Deputy Chief Education Officer (Dy. CEO), Jammu, and Principals and Heads of various government schools functioning within the constituency. The interaction focused on assessing academic performance, availability of teaching staff, infrastructure facilities, enrollment trends, and the effective implementation of various education-related government schemes.
During the detailed review, Ms. Devyani Rana sought a comprehensive briefing on the status of schools, including classroom availability, sanitation facilities, drinking water, electricity, and digital learning resources. She also reviewed issues related to staff shortages, rationalization of teachers, and subject-wise availability of faculty in higher secondary schools. The MLA stressed the need for addressing these challenges on priority to ensure uninterrupted academic activities.
Ms. Rana emphasized that quality education and student welfare are among her top priorities. She called upon education officers and school principals to work with dedication and accountability to enhance learning outcomes.
