| SSP Ramban holds Thana Diwas, conducts VDG conference | | |

Ramban, Jan 11: Police Station Chanderkote organized Thana Diwas programe, VDG interaction session and meeting with the members of peace committee at Chanderkote.
The programme was chaired by Sh. Arun Gupta,JKPS SSP Ramban and attended by, AC Roop Ram Meena(84BN CRPF) , Major Ashutosh Singh(48RR), SHO Jatinder Singh Rakwal, Naib-Tehsildar Farooq Mirza,officers and representatives from trade union, transport union, political parties, NGOs, religious institutions, education instt. and public at large.
The grievances and issues raised by the participants were patiently heard who were assured of redressal of those falling within the mandate and forwarding the matters to the competent authorities, which are beyond competence.
While interacting with the public, he stressed the importance of active community participation in the fight against substance abuse, its harborers and cybercrime.
He urged the general public to make effective use of the toll-free helpline numbers viz. 1933(MANAS helpline)1930(cyber fraud) and 112 ERSS.
SSP Ramban also conducted a brief meeting with the members of peace committee Chanderkote who were sensitized on the emerging challenges and their role in maintaining communal harmony in the society.
SSP Ramban also made aware the VDG members about the importance of periodic cleaning, handling and maintenance of govt. arms and ammunition besides their role in the generation of intelligence as a force multiplier.
The session ended with the hearing of their grievances.
