Rajouri, Jan 10: marked a solemn and memorable chapter in the history of the Gurjar Desh Charitable Trust (GDCT), Jammu, as a dignified condolence meeting was organized to pay rich homage to Baba-e-Qoum late Dr. Masud Choudhary—an eminent scholar, visionary social reformer, and lifelong champion of education, social awareness, and humanitarian values. The programme was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Mr. Khurshid Bismil, Chairman, Muslim Educational Trust (MET), Thanna Mandi, Rajouri, who visited GDCT along with his son, Mr. Tahir Khurshid Raina, Principal District & Sessions Judge, other family members, and associates. The distinguished guests were accorded a warm and respectful welcome by the Trust management. The proceedings commenced with Fateha Khwani at the final resting place of the departed leader, situated alongside the GDCT premises, followed by the observance of a moment of silence in recognition of the unparalleled and selfless services rendered by late Dr. Masud Choudhary for the upliftment of marginalized and underprivileged sections of society, the promotion of education, and the preservation of human dignity. Subsequently, the GDCT Library transformed into a vibrant centre of intellectual discourse and reflection. A large and distinguished gathering comprising lawyers, academicians, educationists, intellectuals, former senior government officers, retired bureaucrats, and prominent social personalities assembled to pay their respectful tributes. The atmosphere throughout remained solemn, reflective, and intellectually enriching. Those who addressed the gathering included former Additional Advocate General Mr. Hussain Ahmad Siddiqui; Dr. Shahnawaz Chaudhary; Mr. Rashid Azam Inqalabi, former Director School Education; Senior Advocate Sheikh Shakeel Ahmad; Mr. Gulzar Ahmad Qureshi, former Director School Education; former college principal and President, Aligarh Society, Prof. Musarraf Hussain Shah; eminent Gojri writer Dr. Javed Rahi; and former Chairman GDCT and designated Senior Advocate of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir, Mr. Shah Mohammad Chaudhary. The speakers unanimously remembered late Dr. Masud Choudhary as a principled, farsighted leader who firmly believed that education is the most powerful instrument of social transformation. His intellectual depth, unwavering commitment, and profound compassion for humanity were described as a guiding beacon for present and future generations. Chairman GDCT, Mr. Arshad Ali Chaudhary, in his address expressed his sincere gratitude to Mr. Khurshid Bismil for paying a meaningful visit to GDCT, sharing invaluable and cherished memories of Baba-e-Qoum late Dr. Masud Choudhary, and dedicating rare photographs, books, and audio-video material to the Trust.
