Early Times Report

Samba, Jan 11: A free medical camp was successfully organized on January 11, 2026, at Baba Lal Ji Mandir near District Hospital Samba with the aim of creating health awareness and providing medical assistance to the general public.
The main focus of the camp was to spread awareness about the harmful effects of indiscriminate consumption of analgesics (painkillers), which can lead to serious side effects including kidney damage. Dr. Bias Dev, Associate Professor at GMC Jammu, delivered an informative lecture highlighting the risks of self-medication and urged people to consult qualified doctors before taking painkillers regularly.
After the awareness session, individual patients were examined and need-based medicines were distributed free of cost. Around 150 patients from different walks of life availed the medical services during the camp.
Dr. Bias Dev, a son of the soil, is deeply involved in social service activities and has been regularly conducting such medical and awareness camps for the welfare of society over the past several years.
On the occasion, Surjit Singh also arranged blankets which were distributed among needy and poor families through the organizing committee.
The organizing committee comprised Pritam Daghoria, Suman Jamwal, Reetesh Jamwal, Kanish Sharma, Vinod Kumar, Nardeep Jamwal, Sahil Hanspal, Ankush Mehta, Manik Tak, Surjit Singh and Sham Sunder.
The organizers expressed their gratitude to Baba Lal Ji Mandir Bhajan Mandali for providing space and facilities for the camp. They also thanked Dr. Bias Dev for his selfless service and Mr. Suresh Dabgotra and Kirti Sharma for sponsoring the medicines distributed to the patients. The camp was widely appreciated by the local residents for its meaningful contribution towards public health awareness and community welfare.
