SP South Jammu holds meeting with Ulemas/Madrasa representatives a held of Republic Day

JAMMU, Jan 12: In view of the forthcoming Republic Day celebrations, a meeting was convened today by the SP South, Jammu along with SDPO East and SHO Bahu Fort at Police Station Bahu Fort with prominent Ulemas and representatives of various Madarsas of the area.
During the interaction, It was encouraged to celebrate the forthcoming Republic Day with enthusiasm, national spirit and full respect for the Constitution of India. The Ulemas were sensitized about the importance of promoting quality education, moral values and constitutional ethos among children studying in Madarsas, so that they grow into responsible and law-abiding citizens.
SP South also stressed upon the installation of CCTV cameras in Madarsas and adjoining premises to enhance security, monitoring and overall safety of students and staff. Further, the verification of all students, teachers and staff members was emphasized to ensure proper records and to prevent misuse of educational institutions by anti-social or anti-national elements.
SP South urged the Ulemas to counsel parents and students to stay away from radical ideologies, drugs, crime and other social evils, and to cooperate with police in maintaining peace and communal harmony. Emphasis was also laid on responsible use of social media and not to circulate or believe in unverified information or rumours.
For effective coordination and quick response, phone numbers of local police officers were shared with the Ulemas, and a two-way communication mechanism was established. The Ulemas assured full cooperation with the police and reiterated their commitment towards peace, unity and brotherhood.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with SP South appreciating the role of Ulemas in fostering harmony and assuring them of all possible assistance from Jammu Police.
