| Create learning spaces for gen-next | | | While chairing the 9th meeting of the Executive Council of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University recently Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha stressed on the importance to focus on educating tomorrow and create learning spaces for the next generation. LG Sinha’s message was clear that education should be result and skill oriented. The courses offered by the universities should focus on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and emerging digital technologies. Equally important is the development of ethical judgment, social responsibility and civic awareness. Universities must shape minds that can provide direction to their own lives while contributing meaningfully to society. Education should create responsible citizens who are capable of informed participation in democracy and nation-building. Traditional education scenario is changing. Now, the studies are not confined to the four walls of the classroom. These are about honing the skills and preparing students for upcoming challenges. The universities that are the highest seats of learning are instrumental in shaping the future of nation that begins in the campus. The education has to be reimagined for the brighter tomorrow. The varsities have to shape up minds in such a way that can provide direction to the lives of youth and turn them into responsible citizens. The implementation of New Education Policy (NEP) has changed the very concept of teaching. The curriculums are being shaped up according t the needs of the industry. The more emphasis is being laid on making the youngsters employable. The new courses that have been introduced focus on the importance of skill orientation and making the students confident about how to face the world and earn their livelihoods. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s call is, therefore, both visionary and pragmatic. It urges academic institutions to align learning with the realities of the 21st century while keeping the larger national interest in focus. By creating future-ready learning spaces, promoting innovation-driven courses and emphasizing skill orientation, universities can bridge the gap between education and employment. As India aspires to become a knowledge-driven global leader, rethinking higher education is not a choice but a necessity. The brighter tomorrow that LG Sinha speaks of will be shaped by how effectively universities respond today—by empowering youth with skills, values and vision to meet upcoming challenges and lead the nation forward with confidence. |
