J&K Bharat Scouts, Guides contingent excels at National level

Jammu, Jan 14: The Jammu & Kashmir Bharat Scouts and Guides contingent comprising 70 Rovers, Rangers, and Adult Leaders proudly represented the Jammu and Kashmir in the 1st National Rover/Ranger Jamboree, held at Distrct Balod, Chhattisgarh State, from 9th to 14th January 2026.
This historic event, organized by the Bharat Scouts and Guides National Headquarters, brought together fifteen thousands of young members from across the country and neighbouring countries for a week of learning, adventure, and community service, cultural exchanges. The Jamboree was formally inaugurated by the Hon’ble Governor of Chhattisgarh, while the Hon’ble Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, Hon’ble Education Minister, Hon’ble Chief National Commissioner, The Bharat Scouts and Guides graced the closing and valedictory ceremony, adding grandeur and inspiration to the National gathering.
The J&K contingent, drawn from Ten districts representing both Jammu and Kashmir divisions, participated enthusiastically in all events and activities organized during the week-long National Jamboree. These included adventure programs, skill development sessions, community service projects, cultural exchanges, exhibitions, and inter-state competitions showcasing creativity, teamwork, and leadership.
Displaying remarkable discipline, spirit, and dedication, the J&K contingent earned nine pennants and certificates of appreciation in recognition of their exemplary participation and performance across various activities. Their efforts reflected the true spirit of the Scouting and Guiding movement — promoting unity, brotherhood, and selfless service beyond regional and cultural boundaries.
The contingent took part under the dynamic supervision of Ms. Anuradha Gupta JKAS, (Director General, Youth Service and Sports J&K/Hon’ble State Chief Commissioner, J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides whose vision and encouragement motivated the young participants to perform at their best in all the activities of the Jamboree. Ms. Nasreen Khan, State Secretary-cum-Administrative Officer, Ms. Gulshan Ara, Joint State Administrative Officer and Prof Dr. Renu Nanda (State Commissioner Rangers) who provided continuous guidance and administrative support throughout the event. The contingent was efficiently coordinated and led by Shri Haroon Malik, who served as the Contingent Incharge, ensuring smooth participation and coordination at every stage of the Jamboree for the Jammu and Kashmir Contingent.
Shri. Ali Mohammad Wani and Dr. Ritika Sharma served as Contingent Leaders for both the sections along with the supporting staff of Shri. Sameer Ahmad, Shri. Yashpal, Shri. Inayat Bin Mushtaq, Dr. Khurshid Ahmad, Ms. Tadil and Ms. Shallu Verma.
The J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides expressed gratitude to the National Headquarters of the Bharat Scouts and Guides and the Government of Chhattisgarh for the successful organization of the Jamboree and for providing a platform that fosters National Integration and youth empowerment.
The participation of J&K’s young Rovers and Rangers in this prestigious National event not only provided them with enriching learning experiences but also strengthened inter-state cooperation and cultural understanding. The contingent returned with renewed enthusiasm to continue promoting the ideals of the Bharat Scouts and Guides movement across the Jammu and Kashmir.
