Early Times Report
HIRANAGAR, Jan 16: Government Girdhari Lal Dogra College (GDC), Hiranagar once again demonstrated its growing academic and innovative footprint as a dynamic team of students Ms. Chinmay Sharma, Ms. Shavi Sharma, Mr. Mohit Sharma, and Mr. Rajan Sharma successfully participated in the Level III (Final) Presentation of AgriThon 2.0, held at the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J). After qualifying the highly competitive Level I and Level II rounds, the team presented a well-researched, innovative problem statement along with a practical and sustainable solution, addressing contemporary challenges in the agricultural sector. Their selection for the final level stands as a strong testimony to the academic rigour, research orientation, and innovative culture nurtured at GDC Hiranagar.
The students participated under the patronage and constant encouragement of the worthy Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Pragya Khanna, whose leadership continues to inspire excellence, innovation, and confidence among students. The team worked under the able guidance of Dr. Harvinder Kour and Dr. Raman Kumar from the Department of Botany, whose mentorship played a pivotal role in shaping the students' ideas into a competitive research-driven presentation.
AgriThon 2.0, launched in July 2025, is a prestigious national-level initiative aimed at fostering innovation, problem-solving, and preparedness to meet emerging challenges in agriculture. The impressive performance of GDC Hiranagar students on such a prominent platform reflects the institution's sustained commitment to experiential learning, interdisciplinary research, and skill-based education in alignment with contemporary academic and national priorities.
The college administration congratulated the students and their mentors for this notable achievement and extended best wishes for their future academic and professional endeavours.
