IGP Jammu chairs valedictory briefing of refresher training

JAMMU, Jan 16: A one-week refresher training module was successfully conducted by ZPHQ Jammu for police personnel transferred/adjusted from various wings to Jammu Zone. The programme was organised at the Conference Hall, ZPHQ Jammu, with the objective of equipping the personnel with essential operational, legal, procedural, and technological knowledge required for effective policing in the Zone.
The refresher course was specifically designed to familiarise the participants with current policing practices, operational protocols, and updated legal frameworks, enabling their smooth integration into both field and office assignments within Jammu Zone. The training focused on enhancing professional competence, ensuring uniformity in procedures, and strengthening preparedness to meet contemporary policing challenges.
A total of 71 police personnel, ranging in rank from Inspector to Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), participated in the programme. The training module covered a wide spectrum of subjects, including new criminal laws, special acts, police station functioning, CCTNS operations, forensic procedures, cybercrime, digital policing, and counter-terrorism training.
The sessions comprised interactive lectures, practical demonstrations, and question-answer discussions, ensuring active participation and hands-on understanding of systems and procedures. Senior officers and subject-matter experts delivered lectures to impart practical insights drawn from field experience and best practices.
On the conclusion of the refresher training programme, the participating personnel were briefed by Sh. Bhim Sen Tuti, IPS, Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, and Sh. Shamsheer Hussain, JKPS, Staff Officer to IGP Jammu Zone who emphasised the importance of professionalism, discipline, and strict adherence to established procedures while discharging duties in Jammu Zone. The officers were encouraged to effectively apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the course in their day-to-day functioning.
The refresher training programme was conducted under the supervision and coordination of a committee of Officers of ZPHQ Jammu comprising Sh. Hemanshu Mahajan, Sr. PO; Inspr. Mohd Sadeeq; Inspr. Arun Kaul (Course Coordinator); Inspr. Sunny Sharma; Inspr. Ashish Chowdhary; PSI Ahsan Ahmed; PSI Anil Sharma and PSI Rakshit Sharma.
