SDRF Jammu celebrates 14th Annual Raising Day

JAMMU, Jan 19: 14TH Annual Raising Day of SDRF Jammu, was celebrated on 19th January-2026 at SDRF 2nd Bn. Hqrs. Gulshan Ground Jammu. A.G. Mir, IPS, DGP, Commandant General, HG/CD & SDRF J&K was the Chief Guest of the occasion had congratulated all the officers and officials of SDRF J&K on the occasion of Raising Day and praised the role and work of SDRF during the past one year. He told that the SDRF has done extraordinary work in carrying out rescue operations in Disaster effected areas and lives of number of people were saved which is very important work of mankind.
On the occasion, Lalit Kumar, Dy. SP SDRF 2nd Bn. Jammu welcomed the Chief Guest and officers from Civil Administration / Guests being party of the function for gracing the occasion. Zahid Naseem Manhas, IPS, Commandant SDRF 2nd Bn Jammu, highlighted the achievements and role of SDRF 2nd Bn. Jammu, during the year 2025 and elaborated the achievements / excellent work done by the SDRF personnel during disaster such as rescue operations being carried out during massive cloudburst which happened at village Chashoti of District Kishtwar and flash floods which had covered residential areas of Jammu region in August-2025. In his address he also expressed the future plans of the organization so that SDRF could perform efficiently at the time of any exigency. On the occasion, a live demonstration and display of High Value Equipments / Photo Gallery was also displayed and was lauded by the chief guest.
Mohd Arshad, JKPS, DIG HG/CD & SDRF Jammu, Ramesh Kumar Angral, JKPS, DIG, Director HG Kashmir and Mohd. Rafi Giri, JKPS, SO to Commandant General HG/CD & SDRF J&K and other Gazetted officers of this organization were also present on the occasion.
During the occasion Smt. Ansuya Jamwal, JKAS, ADC, Jammu, Vishavjeet Singh, JKAS, ADC, Kathua, Athar Amin Zargar, JKAS, then Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Marh (Jammu), Prem Singh Chib, JKAS, ADC Udhampur and Mohd Muslim Wani, Principal, Boys Model Hr. Sec. School, Rajouri, Chief Warden and Dy. Chief Warden of Civil Defence Jammu for their unwavering support recognized by this organization during disaster in year-2025. The Chief Guest has given them memento & commendation certificate to Civil Administrative Officers for their support to this organization. The 05 SDRF personnel were also rewarded suitably for their outstanding performance and were given commendation certificate by the Chief Guest.
