Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 23: On the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchmi on 23 August, a large number of devotees gathered at Babaji Ballo Maharaj Devsthaan, Mathwar, to seek blessings. Lakhs of devotees arrived from distant places, including areas outside Jammu. Despite heavy rainfall and stormy weather, devotees reached Mathwar in large numbers, reflecting their deep faith and devotion. As every year, Basant Panchmi was celebrated this year as well at Mathwar with great enthusiasm and traditional fervour. The day-long religious programmes created a spiritually charged atmosphere at the Devsthaan. On the occasion, Baba Yash Pal Ji performed Havan, Pooja, and Archana, and offered prayers for peace, harmony, and prosperity of the nation, praying that peace continues to prevail across the country and that the blessings of Babaji Ballo Maharaj Ji remain upon all.
Several dignitaries and public representatives also visited Mathwar on this sacred occasion. DIG Shiv Kumar Sharma, Jammu-Kathua Range, paid his obeisance at the Devsthaan and joined the devotees in the celebrations. Member of Parliament Shri Sat Sharma and senior leader Shri Yudhvir Sethi were also present on the occasion. Other Members of Parliament and public representatives likewise visited Mathwar and participated in the Basant Panchmi celebrations. For the convenience of devotees, a Bhandara (community feast) was organised, in which a large number of pilgrims partook prashaad, promoting the spirit of service, unity, and devotion.
Adding cultural vibrancy to the event, a team from the Jammu and Kashmir Cultural Academy also participated in the celebrations and presented folk songs and cultural performances, which were well received by the devotees. The celebrations once again highlighted the significance of Mathwar Devsthaan as a major spiritual and cultural centre, bringing together devotees, dignitaries, and artists in an atmosphere of faith, unity, and harmony.
