SSP Jammu holds security review meeting ahead of R-Day 2026

JAMMU, Jan 23: SSP Jammu, Sh. Joginder singh,JKPS* chaired a security review meeting at District Police Lines (DPL), Jammu, in anticipation of the forthcoming Republic Day celebrations. The meeting witnessed the participation of Zonal SP's,SP Ops,SDPO's,DySP DAR,DSP DSB, Earmarked Zonal as well as Sector officers, reaffirming coordinated efforts for the peaceful and smooth conduct of forthcoming Independence Day.
The primary objective of the meeting was to assess and strengthen security preparedness for the upcoming national event.
During the session, SSP Jammu appreciated the officers/jawans for the smooth peaceful conduct of several events in 2025 and also provided a comprehensive briefing on the current security scenario, emphasizing the need for heightened vigilance and alertness across all Areas of Responsibility (AOR). He instructed officers to intensify surveillance, with particular focus on, Religious places, Critical installations, Identified hotspot areas, Designated Republic Day celebration venues, Enhanced foot patrolling and deployment of Long Range and Short Range Patrols (LRPs/SRPs), Establishment of random /surprise nakas at strategic locations, Effective area domination to prevent any disruption by anti-national, anti-social or mischievous elements.
Officers were also directed to ensure the effective and large scale participation of general public,fostering patriotic spirit and encouraging large scale public participation in the Republic Day celebrations.
The meeting featured an active exchange of views and suggestions among officers. Detailed discussions were held on various security measures, with a strong emphasis on coordination, collaboration, and synergy among all security agencies to ensure a robust and foolproof security apparatus on the ground.
As Republic Day approaches, the District Police remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens across the Jammu.
